If they were with the car shipping would be more than the $8.00 he quotes.  ;)

Charger1973, I don't see where the connection is? The car is being sold by a completely different person.

Charger_Fan

I wish those were the tags for my parts car, I'd be all over that! ;D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Trav, if you see this, hook me up buddy.  :icon_smile_wink:

The auction for the whole car is not current.  Its the car this guy bought recently, then turned around and sold the ID tags off of.

Man, how did I miss that  :-[. You are completely right.

It's his tag, let him do whatever he wants with it.  One of you guys better hurry up and report the vin to the charger registry and make sure they put a note next to it saying it's parted out or something like that (even though you may not know the circumstances around it, just go by assumtion).  Maybe the guy who buys the tag can talk the guy out of whats left of the car if he still has it.  And then the guy who buys it scrapes the parts together to get it back on the road.  But wait, he can't sell it because a potential buyer goes to the registry to see if they have anything on it and it shows parted out.  I could go on and on, just as you guys could about the argument for the other side.   :icon_smile_angry: :icon_smile_angry: :icon_smile_angry: :flame: :flame:

Better quit before someone calls the law on me for not worring about what someone has for sale.  It's not an rt, get over it, worry about something that matters.

Where is vin watchdog Bull at, he probably beat you to calling the authorties AlaskanTA.
Just my :Twocents:

The fender tag is legal to sell. VIN tags are not, not even if it was for a Yugo.

VIN fraud is a serious crime, this hobby has too much fraud in it as it is. I will report every VIN tag for sale that I see. It matters to me.  ;)

i don't understand how buying a fender tag to use on your car or to make a new one makes a difference? can you enlighten me why you need one? my general lee didn't have a build sheet or fender tag, it was still a numbers matching car, and i still got almost $26000 for it. i don't understand

To me, NO fender tag, WRONG fender tag, or REPO. fender tag all mean the same thing.  It is NOT the orig. tag for the car.  On a street car it doesn't matter one bit.  One a high dollar RT resto. or HEMI car, it probably does.

Dodge Don

I'm pretty sure you can get a reproduction fender tag made that shows your options for your car. I don't have any issues with repro fender tags (they are not perfect reproductions...but close enough for the average person) as long as they are not purported to be original tags during a sale. I could help you spec out what your original tag would have looked like based on your car/model/options.
