Besides ebay, where else to look?

Aside from e-gouge, where else do people look for parts?  I check my local papers and such but no parts ever get listed.  Are there other websites and papers to look into?

I have a few Mopar parts guys that I call first, then it is Ebay or junkyards depending on the type of part. I bought a parts car too...saved a lot that way.

Pre '75 junkyard mopars are getting pretty scarce around here.

Thanks guys.  I am looking for parts that I will need for my resto and just wanted to know so I can keep an out out for items as they become available.  A quick idea of what I am looking for:

4 Speed center console  -  Ebay has a 4 speed top plate that I may buy and then find an auto console and convert?  It can be done I am thinking.  The only difference between the two is something about the drivers side hump near the pedal and the trim on the autos go down in front of the light and manuals the trim goes over the light.

A complete set of seat belts including hardware

Door arm rest pads

I guess that is all I can think of as examples.  Someone had a thread about the headrest and where they can be restored, I bookmarked a site.  The biggest thing now is the center console.

An automatic console can be used.

You will need to cut out the clearance for the hump on the drivers side, buy a repo hump cover, find a driver side 4 speed trim piece(original(difficult) or $200 repo), get a 4 speed top plate, and console shifter boot.

69Hemi has a nice site that goes through this conversion, he used a Stinger reproduction console also.

Mopar salvage yards know what they have and want a premium price.  The swap meets are generally overpriced, except for the kind hearted person.  Just keep looking.

Cars and Parts mag has a generous amount of information on yards and where to look.  Hemmings is good for research.  Moparts has many listings from the midwest and east coast.   

My best advice is to find the local mopar expert and build a list of local contacts.  They tend to have a good feel for what is out there.  Plus you get to talk to someone about your project.  My wife is tired of listening to "guess what I found in the salvage yard today" stories.   

Good Luck with your project.  Keep looking and you could be lucky just like the Dukes of Harzard when they found the "General Lee" in the salvage yard.

Yeh, but you still need Cooter to completely overhaul and restore the car overnight are else it would just be another Hlpg father and son project.
