Here's a couple of pics I took on friday,it's been at the shop for 15 months, very slow progress. On a positive not it gives me time to rebuild most of the components while i wait for the car to be completed.

15 months is not the worst I have heard from a body shop.  I know people who have had there car in a shop for close to two years and then told they will have to pay up to date and remove the car, before it was finished.

The car was real solid to begin with, car from California. The only thing replaced was the rear quarters and the trunk floor,it still has the original floors, trunk extensions tail panel, rear valance and valance corners. The doors, hood, fenders, trunk lid no rust tight seams.
The car was original F6 Green (white hat special) its going to be Triple Black with Red tail stripe. The shop is mainly insurance jobs, get it in get it out. They took on the car for the slow times which hasn't been that slow in the pass 15 months, there's a couple of old school Mopar guys there that work on it, that do very good work. They say its becoming a lost art of rebuilding muscle cars, most of the young guys at the shop replace body parts and not repair.Anyhow i will post more pics as it progresses.

Nice, progress is good. My 68 is also a California black plate car and undergoing a resto.....it will also be 3x black with a red tail stripe.  :icon_smile_big:

Thats for sure.  It takes a lot of practice to become a good metal guy.

I would like to learn how to do lead work but dont want to practice on my 69 Charger... :o  Maybe i'll see how bad my 89 Ram needs some lead work done and try it on him.. hehe

Car looks like its coming along real nice, I wouldnt say 15 months is all that bad, my buddies 65 goat was in the shop for almost 4 years. The guy that did it for him was a friend so he figured he was ok to take his time with it. My firend started getting real pissed off and the guy got it done eventually. It did come top notch in the end.

Hey Ron I'm only a couple of hour up highway 17 in Petawawa, maybe some day we can cruise the chargers .

welcome to the charger restoration club. my car has been in the body shop for about seven months now and still waiting. I cant complain to much since i slipped it in a shop that had a two year waiting list. quality takes time, or at least thats what i keep telling my self.

Lookin great so far!!!! My 71 has been in a body shop a year this month. If you are anything like me I'll bet you can't wait to see it finished. How long until they paint?
