NO Headlights Bad Ground?

OK, my headlights don't work. The tester shows they are getting power but the high beam indicator stays on, no headlights work. A new dimmer switch makes no difference. Pull all the headlights out and the high beam idiicator goes off. Where do I start looking for the bad ground? I started to try non-halogen bulbs...

On a 70 there are ground wires that come out of the headlight harness near the battery.   Don't know if thats the way a 69 is.

on a 69, there are two black ground wires that attach to the rad support.  Over time, if corrosion occurs, this can lead to a bad ground possibly causing your headlights to not work.  Chances are if you had a bad ground, they would be dim or only one not work.  Have you checked the harness as there is a connector behind the battery that might have corrosion in it as well or have a broken wire someplace?

This problem is with my modified 70. There has been a problem with corrosion around the battery so that may be a logical place to start...

start cleaning all the conections , the bulkhead could be a problem too

headlights were not properly grounded. 2 Ground wires had been spliced together in headlight harness, once separated and new wire run to old grounding spot everything works. Moral of the story if it is meant to have 2 grounds- it needs 2 grounds.
