Anyone have any ideas as too what  could be the  reason for  my dodgeram reverse  to all of a sudden stop working   after i replaced the throttle body sensor .  Truck ran like charm till i replaced the sensor now Ive  got no reverse  This may have nothing to do with the replacing of sensor but I'm clueless as too were too start looking for the problem any advise  is appreciated . Thanks

Even without knowing what year the truck is or what exactly you replaced, I doubt the transmission problem is related to anything you did to the throttle body

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

Sorry its a 95 Dodge Ram.. and your right  im sure the throttle body sensor had nothing to do with the new problem of no reverse. I disconnected battery over night hoping maybe it was just stuck in safe mode but that didnt solve problem . Started truck up this morning runs like a charm drove it around for 10 min but still no reverse. I can put truck in reverse and it goes but soon as i step on gas it locks up and  truck wont move backwards. Drives great forward  thats what has me stumped

If I remember right, that gen rams were notorious for trans problems with the automatics.  My local dealership told me I had to change the trans fluid every 12,000 miles which is WAY sooner than what the service manual called for.  Everytime I changed the fluid, it was fairly dirty and had a metalic sludge on the bottom of the pan and magnet.

If the truck still has 3rd gear, the loss of Reverse is related to the rear band and is in no way related to the TPS.

Common rear band failures are a broken band/linkage, misplaced link or a broken rear servo piston. Pop the pan and have a look.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thanks for the replies i will have a look tomorrow and keep you posted on the outcome If the rear bands broke doesnt that indicate the trannys shot ? and needs to be replaced  or overhauled?
