I'm looking for a diecast car that as closely matches my father's Charger as possible. If anyone has an idea of where to look it would really help. My dad's car was a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, B5 blue with a black Vinyl top and NO tail stripe. If I could find something exactly like that I'd probably scream lol. If I could just find a '70 Charger that is B5 with a black vinyl top that would be fine as well. I looked on ebay but nothing that came close. I even thought about buying one and having it repainted but there is no one around who can do that, not to mention it ould take too long and would run the cost up largely.

AFAIKYASOL...    :P

ertl put out silver, sublime, plum crazy and hemi orange '70 RT's in 1/18 and also the F&F Charger in black and a few other colors.

Ertl is releasing a B5 71 R/T and Super Bee shortly (1/18).
Several B5 '69's were released by ertl and hot wheels (1/18).

I don't care about other scales... maybe others might know.

Yeah I was considering buying the orange 70 R/T and having it repainted since it's got the black interior, 4 speed pistol grip shifter, and vinyl top like my dads but I have no idea what it would cost to get someone to repaint it nor who can do stuff like that.b

I have at least a couple '69's in blue, the little hotwheels cars. But not a single '70. I even have a yellow '73, and both a '66 and a '67. And I passed up a '75. I've yet to see a single '70 Charger.

factory keeps pumping out losers and we have no idea how to get rid of them.

How about a Plum Crazy '70 R/T with a black Vinyl top? That's originally the color of my dad's car before he painted it B5 blue!

You can buy 2 diecasts and make 1 if you swap a few parts.   Theres a plum crazy street machine with a blower and vinyl top and then the stock plum crazy 70 rt.

see ebay items   320029528970   and 7021731832  for examples.

why dont ya paint it yourself?.. it would probably take an afternoon...

Mean 318

I have done it, and it wasn't that hard, I then used chrome foil tape.

Drache

Mean318,

Did you just sand off the paint, tape over everything else, and then spray it, or did you paint it all by hand? The one thing I would love is to also get the same pinstriping my dad's had as well, I've seen it on a few other Chargers. It does from the top of the quarters to around the R/T flare on the door, then back to the bottom of quarterpanel. Did this have a name?

I took as much apart as possible, taped off the roof, sanded it with fine paper, primed it, got correct 69 Plymouth paint, and sprayed it. I duno about the pin striping.

that stripe was the longatudanal stripe...   ;D
