I've known about these for a long time, but never really thought that much about them. Yesterday I saw one up real close, pretty cool. Does anyone know about these cars? production figures? options? Years of production?

I have the numbers at the mopad I will try to post later, I do know the values on them have not gone up like many of the muscle cars, despite very low production #s.  Thats a Cbody I would not mind having.

gussied up 300
the hoods and trunks are problematic being fiberglass,..
serious F.G. deterioration is difficult to fix and of course are not rebopped..
only came with a milk chocolote interior color,..   :P
door straps are weak and usually broken,..
window glass rattles but could be had with four wheel discs...

i seriously investigated restoring one, but decided that for me it was simply too impractable...
they are becoming more expensive as time goes on, the one i looked at was $5 K in the late '80s
it needed paint... besides the problems i noted above..
The great brakes sold me on Discs though.. :yesnod:

Thats the one exactly, the front end/grille kind of reminds me of the 70 Charger. Its strange that with the Hurst name it carries, they only came in 727 auto. The one I ckd out yesterday had a column shift auto. The fiberglass stuff all appeared to be in pretty good shape...

Here's one with a HEMI! No, I don't think it's original. :icon_smile_tongue:

Lots-o-great pics there! :yesnod:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

a couple converts runnin around too..

Mean 318

Daytona R/T SE

I'd really like to have one of those!

Chryco Psycho

2 converts were built originally for Hurst , Linda had to be able to stand up , the first was was wrecked
something like 140 had buckets & console , most had bench seat , I have seen a sunroof car
& a friend locally built a 3rd convert 2 years ago, it was in Carlisle last year [05]
1 hemi was also built originally , the rest were 440 TNT powered
only available with 1 paint scheme & brown interior
the hoods use a factory steel frame with a glass skin , I believe it was the same with the trunk lids althoough the frame May have been modified to clear the dropped lines so the spoiler would work
some had the larger side lights as well with the turning spot lights built in

What are they going for?  I looked at one a few years ago and the book value? resale was really not that high.  I thought they would have been up there do to the low production #

My uncle Rick has one that he purchased from his brother or uncle "greasy" he paid $5500 and that was last year. It has some rust but is overall a nice driver and is now having the rust replaced and fixed back up. My uncle greasy had owned the car since the mid 80's and bought it off the original owners.

Actually they all had power bucket seats.  All had leather interiors. Most had the "buddy seat" cushion between the buckets. Some had the console .
Hurst tweaked the shift points on the 727 tranny.
They actually only built 485 , although it was supposed be 500.
Also a 1971 version was planned which was to be black/ gold.
The gold is a GM color.  The hood pins are Olds 442 style.
The 15" wheel they used was the first time for that style of wheel , later available on B-bodies.
I used to own the last one probably built - CM23U0C235899.
The owners manual was a short custom run, and the wording was great - Basically all about manliness and being in command of the road.
  Bankers Hot Rod !
Consensus has it that the only true convertible was hit by a train.
They move very well for a huge C-body
Suspension was basically C-body Heavy Duty/ Sport

There was recently a sort of clone on ebay.  It was a 2 door new yorker, silver with black strips, had buckets/console, 440 motor.  really sweet car.  probably back on again because it did not meet reserve.

I am dying for a 70-72 2 door C body.  I think they are so cool, and won't break thebank either.

At the last few cruise nights we had this year, the VFW (I think) had one they were raffling off. The ticket was $20. I didn't buy one, but the car looked nice.
