This is just rant, if not interested please do not read and waste your time.
I got one of those add-on cultivators from lowe's, one you can attach to your weedwhacker. I got it home, unpacked it, attached it to my weedwacker and start it up....and it doesnt spin or nothing. My weedwhacker is dying and backfiring. Im like wtf (excuse language) I take it off and inspect it closer and I see old dirt stuck to it. So I take it back to lowe's and they tried to blame it on me that basically I broke it and want money back. Also they said that they dont put faulty equipment on their shelves. BS guys! Anyways I got refund, so I might consider shopping with them in future. That is all.

What ever you do don't lose your bill they give you. I took back a 2 by 4 broad that cost almost $4 without my bill of sale and all I got back was 85 cents. Seems that was the lowest price that wood sold for at one time-I can't believe that lumber never goes on sale. Glad it was not something that cost $50 or so then they might have really screwed me.

tilller was few cents short of $100. Ugly lady was kinda mad that 30 days didnt go by yet, she triple checked it. I'm like no, its not 30 days yet

I like Lowe's, they seem better organized than Home Depot. There's a different selection that they have with certain things too, like lighting fixtures. Must be different suppliers competing with HD's suppliers. I found out that happened with the brand of windows they sell, Pella. HD used to carry both Pella & Andersen, but Andersen told HD to get rid of Pella or they'll pull their line of products from all their stores. So Lowes sells Pella, & HD sells Andersen. I prefer Pella, so it's Lowes for me.

As for the weed whacker, I can't see adding anything on to one, & would think it would be better to just get a different piece of equipment to do the job. A small motor with things added to it, sounds like a disaster to me. I hardly use the one I have since I live in the woods & don't care what grows around the property. I do use it to keep a drainage swale clear, but I think a bigger one would go faster than the one I have now. (An old, Black & Decker electric.)

By the way, I also like the red & blue colors on the Lowes buildings  much  better than the orange & white on Home Depot. You can't overlook aesthetics, they're important you know.

Never had any problems with Lowe's or Home Depot. Then again I also just did a job interview with Lowe's Yesterday.

They both suck. Ever since they came to town, all but one of the smaller hardware stores around here have closed their doors.

Never had a problem returning any of the garbage i bought at either one of there stores. I returned a leaf blower that I used a couple of times that I wasnt happy with.  Most of the time theres some girl whos more worried about when shes gonna get her next text message on her cell phone working behind the customer service desk who could care less.

Lowes, the Depot, and any other big box store are world famous for taking stuff on return, not checking it, and tossing it back on the shelf.

What happened to you was that someone else bought this turd, and it was broken, or they broke it, then brought it back and the turd behind the counter tossed it into the cart with rest of the returned crap.

Never buy anything from these places unless it has the factory seal on it.  Easy to spot since they just throw generic packing tape on the returns. 

by the way, if it's not broken, it's sure to be missing pieces, especialy the electrical stuff.  love getting that ceiling fan up only to discover the ripped hardware bag and that last missing nut.  meanwhile your wire cutters are in your mouth, the fan is in both hands and the kitchen chair you so wisely decided to use as a ladder is creaking and starting to fail.....good times....good times.

the particular product didnt come sealed (as the rest of same packages) so unless I would've taken all the guts out, then I could've inspected it. I guess next time I will
