I installed a Firmfeel box with their long pitman arm.  Now the power steering pump craps out on me when steering somewhat sharply.  Plenty of fluid, good idle speed, and stock pulleys.  any ideas?

Add an external cooler. They are on every Police spec Diplomat or Gran Fury. They run  inline of the return hose. It made a huge difference for me for minimal bucks.

Could the fluid be overheating?  It does it when cold and hot... :shruggy:

When I was messing with the shims in the power steering pump to lower the boost of the stock saginaw pump to gain more steering feel and when I shimmed it too far and reduced the pressure apparently too much the hydralic assist would seem too crap out momentarily if I turned the steering wheel too fast but when i removed shims to gain more assist it went away. It might be a possibility with your setup you could use a little higher pressure, heavier car wider stickier tires might cause this. Another possibility is your power steering belt may be slipping.  Just my .02

Just after changing the box id say you have some air still in the system.

I would bet the belt is slipping. Did you pull the pump by hand only to set the belt tension? Obviously you don't want it too tight but, I used a crowbar on mine and the problem went away. It won't hurt to try it, you can always loosen it again if you have to but at least then you will have the answer to one variable.
