Call a locksmith and have him/her make you a new key. Or, if you feel real confident, take a blank and a 2oz hammer and slap strike across the top of the key to mark the tumbler positions. File with a fine cut triangular file. Reinsert, slap, file, repeat until the key functions. Your strikes should be in an X pattern across the  vertical position of the key, and should be more of a glancing tap than a hammer blow.

just call a locksmith. and 1 thread about this would probably had been sufficient. many folks dont respond to threads that are placed in every area of the board.

I had the same problem.  I ended up tearing the door off just to get to the fuse box.  Or, did I unbolt the lock assembly from behind?  Or better yet, did I get a locksmith?  Well, there are your three courses of action.

Oh, and by the way that's how I always work on my car, at 2-4 a.m. in the morning with a maglite stuck in my mouth.  Imagine changing spark plugs, fuel pumps and whatnot like that-lol...

Only way I can think of is to break through the glovebox liner & unlatch from the inside ???

I think harbor freight sells a little lock picking kit for like $5, you could open up atleast without ruining anything, then take the assembly to a locksmith for a key, if you're not in a hurry and you dont have big $$$ for a housecall.

I would have to go with the above then.. It would suck to ruin the box door...

akcharger,
Thats the best advice yet,  now do you get to the liner from under the dash?

There is a little room between the back of the glove box and your heater/AC box but you'll want to work directly below the dash. Get a razor blade and simple cut the bottom of the box off from under the dash and you should have enough room to get in there with a scribe or thin nail to depress the latch. If that doesn't work I'd use a short phillips and remove the bar that the lock attaches too. A mirror and flash light will be invaluable. To tell you the truth, you could cut away the entire glove box and access the fuses without going through the door, I recall shooting wires in my '70 when I was putting it together and just going from under the dash while the liner was out.

WARNING
Most of the wires are on the drivers side near the fuse box of course but there are a few wires running above and below the box for your lights, cut with care, liner is about 1/16' think
