I know of a '68 Charger R/T and it has a 22" radiator in it. The radiator is not original, but it is still a 22" radiator support opening. The numbers on the support match the fender tag. I have always thought that the R/T's always got the 26" radiator, along with any AC or Hemi cars, but possibly not? My '68 Charger R/T has the 26" opening, but then again it is an AC car.

So is that normal for a non-AC '68 Charger R/T 440 to have a 22" radiator?

My 68 RT has 22".  ALL A/C cars got 26".  Optional on others?

FourSpeedRT

My '68 RT four speed car has the 26 inch opening. I always thought the RT's had the 26'rs....but never say never with Ma MoPar. My build tag has A1 stamped in...I am presuming that is for a 26 inch rad,or Max Cooling?

Just about every 68 RT Charger you will see without AC, will have the 22in radiator. Every 68 RT Charger
I have had and just about every one I no of now has a 22in rad, they were standard. Some non AC cars
got the 26in rad but that is not common.

He was talking about my R/T. Of course radiator is originally from Chally with 318 that I think had A/C. For my 440 that little radiator is too small

Cars that were ordered A/C delete with 3.23 gears would have gotten the 22in rad. Anything with a/c would have got the 26in rad, regardless of rear end gearing. Anything with 3.55 gears would have recieved the 26in rad whether the car had A/C or not.

I'd be one of them.  :yesnod:

Ah yes, and another one happens to be one of the few 500's I've seen with an XS on the dash VIN tag, not XX.
