Short tail 727?

Hey guys,

Getting closer to getting the 440 and 727 in the Charger, its been years since Ive looked at the transmission mount and just looked at it today. I remember guys saying the short tail will work but the top mounts need to be cut off. The mount I have is from the old 904 that was in the Charger, I remember taking it off thinking it will just bolt to the 727 but today when I looked the bolt spacing was different between the bottom mount on the short tail shaft and the mount for the Charger that I have (904 mount).

Any ideas? Did the 904 and 727 use a different mount? Did the 727's long and short tails have different mounts?

It's the year, not the transmission type. '65 and earlier had a wider bolt spread on the mount pad.

Years are the same... The bolt spread on the mount that came off the 904 is about 1 inch too short for the 727 mount.
