Electronic distributor

I have a electronic distributor out of a '75 Charger 400ci 2BC part#3874101, my question is I want to put it in my 383 4BC engine will I have to upgrade the internals and vacuum advance to match or is it the same, if not were can I get parts to upgrade any info would be helpful Thanks!

it will work , the vacuum can be adjusted with an allen wrech through the port that the hose hooks onto , counterclockwise reduces total advacne

It'll work....the electronic conversion that I have fits  361  through 400......413  through 440 is different though I believe...someone correct me if I'm wrong.    I think either the dist. shaft, or the cam gear/oil pump shaft is longer.   The Jeg's catalog shows 2 different part numbers for the two

Thanks for the info I wasn't sure if they used a different distributor for the 2BBL

No...even  the 2bbl  and 4bbl cars use the same dist.   Of course HP blocks used the dual point distributors and the non-hp cars used single points.   This of course was before all vehicles were equipped with electronic ignition.  As far as a 383 2 bbl  and a 383 4bbl....the distributors are the same.

lol....what do you owe me?.....Well....your undying involvement with this forum along with all of the others helping each other out is payment enough.  There is probably not a topic that doesn't have a correct answer to any issue.  There's a lot of knowledge in here!!!   You may get a lot of different opinions on what an issue may be, but you will eventually get the right one.  Everybody has had different experiences....bad and good with their Chargers.  It would be nice to have an annual "dodgecharger.com" gathering so all of us could meet each other!!!  Ya never know what the future may hold there!!!!
