Yes-how very true. Problem is they think it won't happen to them or they don't care cause it be a long long time from now. Was in Toronto last week where smoking in all public buildings is a big no-no. Could not believe all the young girls smoking away outside ! What the heck is wrong with them ? All smoking is going to do is make them old looking by the time they are 30 years old. I can not understand what is so great about smoking tobacco. Oh well its their body at least I did not have to smell it much. Some people are so dumb it seems like.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I smoked for 32 years and while you're a smoker all other priorities are rescinded. Including thoughts of living for another 10,20,30 or so years. One of the worst addictive drugs on the planet.

Its been 7 years since I've had a smoke, and you are never an ex-smoker. Same as there isn't an ex-drinker. You're just not practicing it.

Im not a smoker and never have been, but I think everyone gets a little whacked out about letting others do it to themselves. Im not convinced about the severity of second hand smoke either. Bottom line, everyones bad habits of all kinds (overeating, smoking, alcohol, perversions etc.) all hurt everyone else in some way or another (think hard about that statement and see beyond the obvious smoke drifting through the air) and you'll see that these other obsessions are just as bad to society as any other. Either outlaw EVERYTHING, or leave everyone alone and let them live and/or die by their own free agency....I'd be much more concerned about a sexual pervert living near me than some smoke drifting my way... :yesnod:

:iagree:  And same here (regarding the bold type). When I go to a bar, for example, I could cut the smoke in the air with a knife sometimes. I know I'm breathing bad air for a while, but I'm not worried that I'm gonna be stricken with lung cancer by the following morning. ::)

I will say that since they passed the smoking indoors law here a few years ago, it's nice to go to a restaurant without smelling the smell. Some restaurant's were better than others regarding their ventilation, the bad ones kinda sucked.

Problem is, the people who do get sick and die from second hand smoke can not come on here and say whats happen to them. I don't EVER want to get cancer not tomorrow or in my 70's 80's not ever. I can not believe second hand smoke is harmless, it just takes long to do the damage. Why don't these tobacco addicts chew the stuff instead of stinking up the air and themselves ? I met a nice girl last week in Niagara Falls thought she was great, then we started hugging and she stunk of tobacco, I still dated her :yesnod: but it would have been better if she did not stink of tobacco.

I suppose if a non-smoker is immersed in second hand smoke long enough, I.E. has a job tending bar or something similar, that person would definitely stand a better chance of having problems. But for the majority of non-smokers who spend the mojority of their daily hours breathing clean air, I doubt there's such a big deal about it.

I guess I have reaped the benefits from the do-gooders though, because around here, all public buildings are smoke free & I rarely even think about it any more.
