Are 69 and 70 taillights the same size - will 70s work in a 69?

Will fit the opening but the lense is slightly different.

70s have a reflection area, even I think some laters 69 where assemblied with that kind of lense

Yeah, no swaps for "correct" reasons even though the items will physically interchange. 

Look for a rectangular reflective square (right in the middle of the red lense) in a 1970 taillight.  A 1969 taillight won't have it.
