Tach + Clock is not Tic Toc Tach?

Another random question.

My guage has a Tach + Clock with a singe lead off that back.

When I see pictures of hte Tic Toc Tach, it's not the same thing.

Mt Tach/Clock is totally dead (tried it on another car an nothing), so I'm thinking it would be cheaper/easier to replace with a new repro Tic Toc Tach.

Is that a direct replacement? Is there wiring that needs to be changed or can I just use the old lead + a new harness?

It sounds like you have a plain clock. Which does yours look like?  Top pic is a plain clock, bottom is Tic Toc Tach.

Isn't that outer part a tach?  and the inner part is a clock?

I have the upper thing.

So how hard to upgrade to the tic-toc-tach?

The outer ring is the seconds hand. Note how it goes through clock increments.

There is an additional wire that runs out through the firewall for the Tach. I am not sure what the harness is composed of. I am sure someone here can detail when you need to change and add.

I think the main thing about changing to a tic-toc-tac is the money!

Ah, now it all makes sence. I thought it was just a 6K rpm tach!!

Well, it doesn't work and I want a tach. So I just ordered one along with the harness. Bye bye, money!
