QuoteThe infamous Pikeville N.C. AMC Dealership. You have heard the rumors, or read about it on the list, here are a group of photographs taken in May of 2002.

The owner is Mr. Robert Collier he tells me he and his family had a long relationship with the AMC Corp. going back to the 1950's but he choose to end it when Renault purchased part of AMC.  Today I would by no means still consider it still a Dealership, but they still sell a few parts, but primarily like to sell complete cars. Mr. Collier shows up at various AMC car shows from time to time. He was in attendance in Kenosha  for the 100th anniversary and a regular attendee at the shows hosted by Carolina AMC.

The famous Barry Goldwater AMX is today included in the cars owned by Mr. Collier as are 2 of the Alabama Highway Patrol Javelins. I have not seen, but he told me he also owned the Nash driven by Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger in the 1991 movie "The Marrying Man".

Looks more to me like he'd rather sell them after they're good & rotten first. :icon_smile_angry:

I wonder what's the scoop on the front lot...did they not have asphalt on that lot? ???

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

looks like the green AMX has possiilities.  :yesnod:

This ground is not the rock I thought it to be.
I was wrong.
This changes everything.

"photographs taken in May of 2002"

How do we know that ? Just because somebody posted that, if there was new cars on the street going by that would prove it.

There are some newer cars in some of the pictures.

Nothing but maybe a late 80's car-I think somebody's pulling our leg. Some Chrysler Newports , New yorkers from 80-81 look like Fords from 89-90 ,seen one Ford from the late 80's still does no prove the picture is only 3 years old. Maybe it is but most likely it was 10 - 15 years old. IMOP

terrible one

Oh yeah, sure.  ::) Seriously though, why would someone try to trick people about a random old AMC dealership?

dodge freak

Good point, why for what reason, look I am from Michigan so I have no idea what happens in N C , never even been there, so maybe it is true.

I'm talking about the pics on the link. See the GM in the foreground of the first pic and the late model cars on the other side of the fence in the 2nd:

Got it- well I be - glad some people have other more "important" things on their mind. What a waste.
