Congratulations on making it thru...now the fun begins. There's going to be plenty of times you're going to wonder what you did by joining, but in the end, you'll appreciate the fact that you did...I know I'm very proud that I served, and actually retired(Navy)!  :patriot:,  Bless you for your contribution to our wonderful country!

But tell us about you...

Well, I have been going over all the mail I missed, and found some stuff about me trying to take out a loan while I was gone??
Looks like someone might be trying to steal my identity :flame:
Isn't that just a great thing to come back to?? Grrr.... looks like I will have to go to the bank first thing on monday.... I hope I'm not screwed  :-\

Btw lets see some more pics of that silver 68... that thing was looking great last time I saw it! The last pics I saw were just after he put the jyd wheels on.

Well hopefully I can get everything straightened out and I can enjoy the rest of my leave. I'm going to the School of Infantry next... hopefully I can become an assaultman, it looks like fun stuff to me!

Well, let's see: First the earth cooled. And, then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died, and they turned into oil. And, then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzes. And, Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di's clothes. I couldn't believe it, he took her best summer dress out of the closet, and put it on, and went to town.

Hey Steve! Good to hear from you. It is great to be back in the ROC. I have 10 days boot leave, and I was also assigned 14 days recruiters assistance, so I will be in the ROC until the 25th!!!! I'm going to my friends cabin on the 4th to have some fun with $1500 worth of fireworks :icon_smile_evil:

Next duty station is Camp Geiger. And I love being in the Marine Corps. It was definately the best decision I have ever made. It instilled a great work ethic and values in me. I am just an all around better person now. I would definately recommend it to others... the things you learn will stick with you for the rest of your life, and you will be able to handle any situation better.

Thanks for the welcome. Now that boot is over, the hard part begins! I'm really looking forward to it though!

I did mine in San Diego back in 83. What will your MOS be?

Charger71

Welcome home, Marine.   Good job completing boot camp.   I went to Parris Island, too.  I also went to Camp Geiger.  Once I finished Marine Combat Training (MCT), it was off to Redstone Arsenal for me.  I was a 2311, Ammo Tech.

Anyway,  I got out in 1998 as a Ssgt.

All that to say,  you will never forget the values and training you learned in Recruit Training.  Other people will see you are a Marine.  You now carry the torch for "former" Marines.  So,  Stay Hard, Stay sharp, and remember you have people cheering for you.

Semper Fi, Mac.

Congratulations Marine!  Now the fun begins.  Stay sharp, stay low, and stay loyal. You'll have plenty of chances to make the wrong decisions while on liberty, and that is the fastest way to damage your fresh new career.  Be smart and remember "When there is doubt, there is no doubt"
