Anyone know of a good place in the Dallas for media blasting?

I'm a young college student with limited funds and a 70 Charger in dire needs of rust removal inside and out. I live in Plano Texas (about 40 minutes north of Downtown Dallas). The Charger is completely gutted and the suspension is almost off. I'm looking for a place that can take all the rust out without cleaning my pocket out as well. Anyone have any suggestions. Honestly I don't even know how expensive media blasting is. Any help would really be appreciated. ;D

Thanks,

I can't help you find a media blaster but I can help you with some related advice, if you want it. First thing you need to know is that many media applications will not remove rust, at least not well enough to really get it gone. Typically only the sand media will really get rid of that. The body shop that did my car did a combination of chemical stripping, media blast and sand blast. The chemical was used on the panels to get rid of the paint and the areas that had cancer were blasted and then the cancer was cut out and new metal was put in its place. Only the tougher, non cosmetic areas were hit with sand. (we interrupt this broadcast for a definition of terms: "cancer" means holes caused by rust, the word "rust" alone refers to surface rust or rust that caused some pitting). Certain types of media will get rid of certain types of rust. I know glass media will get rid of surface rust and clean up lightly pitted areas but the guy blasting has to be careful which media is used or it will heat up a panel and warp it badly. That's why you don't see guys going after a big, long Charger quarter panel with a sand blaster to remove the paint. In a nutshell I would say it's very important for you to seriously research any company you hire to do paint/rust removal to make sure they know what they're doing. I would find a reputable body shop first and ask them who they use, or if the body shop does it. If you don't have enough money to paint the car you need to make sure someone can put at least one coat of epoxy primer on the car once all the paint is off so it doesn't rust all over again. It should run between $600-$1000 to have a car stripped.
