Dixie Horn install - thoughts? Pictures?

Like a baby coming home from the hospital, I'm prepping my garage and all my parts for the arrival of my '68 Charger.   

I got my Dixie horn in today and took it out of the package to examine. Since I don't have the car here, I'd love some thoughts, suggestions on how to mount it - any opinions, pictures, or tutorials would be great.

i mounted all of the horns and compressor on a peice of angle iron, then i drilled 2 holes on that flat peice of metal that the hood latch is attached too (i'll try to get pics tommorow as that makes no sence at all)...then they are all right there together in front, and if you want to take it out it's only 2 bolts and 2 wires...

I do not like the look where you can see the trumpets through the grille, but I wanted them between the grille and support for maximum volume. So I split up my horns and compressor over the two sides of radiator support. The horns are mounted on a metal strip and use the factory holes. The only problem I had was the horns came withh too little hosing to split them apart. I found the exact same tubing at Home Depot called "Ice maker tubing" for cheap money.

I don't like the look of the trumpets appearing through the gril & I wanted the horns/compressor readily removable for car shows.  So I swiped Chris' idea of mounting the horns in the trunk.  However, I opted to mount mine to a board that slips in between the trunk floor and passenger side quarter. The horns are still plenty loud even with the deck lid closed.  I added quick disconnects to both ends of the wiring to ease removal of both the horns (trunk) and button (under driver's seat).  I made a horn button on a long coiled headphone wire so that my kids can blast the horn from the back seat. 

However, the horn project was one of the last things I did during the resto.

Around $65 from JC Whitney, as best I recall.   It was several years ago.

I painted mine black too, just to be extra sure they would not be seen. I also did not want to drill my car up. I used all existing holes.

General 01 - where did you get that piece of metal?

Keep in mind that you want the hoses to be the shortest possible and equal length.  Otherwise they won't sound quite right.  Also make sure you use heavy duty wiring so they are the right speed.  I painted mine semigloss black and are not noticed in the grill.

General 01 - where did you get that piece of metal?

You can get that stuff usually at a hardware store. My cousin had that sitting in the pole barn, but I have seen it at Menards. I would suspect Lowe's  and Home Depot would probably carry it too. Just in case, That is just two pieces of angle iron bolted together, like this. Hope my crude drawing helps.
