Description said no Rust in Trunk. Looked pretty rusty to me. I guess nowadays if it doesn't have huge giant holes in it, they call it Rust free. From my experience, that's the type of Trunk that as soon as you have all that heavy surface rust sandblasted out of Trunk you left with Swiss cheese looking Trunk that would then definitely need replacing, the sides/extension/drop offs look good & probably savable. the middle piece would need replacing. LEON.

I agree.  When I got to mine, it was similar (maybe a little less rust if I recall, but similar.    Mine had been up on lifts looking at the undercarriage and it was still solid, but once the undercoating was removed and the blasted it made sense to replace trunk and floorpans.  My guess is some buyers will know that and some may not.  I would not have known it if I hadn't had the experience with mine.

I like the car and hope it finds a good home.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

That broadcast sheet in the back seat was intended for a different car.

Very common situation.

It did.

Did you buy it?

Yes. I currently have three survivor cars and I want something that's not a pedigree car that I can actually drive longer distances and have fun in without having to worry about it losing value. The game plan is to build an R/T clone in a high impact color with a modern 392 Hemi & six speed. 25 years ago, this would have been a $3,500.00 car, but I've come to realize that in 2023, the entry price to get into a fairly decent 68-70 Charger is now sky high.

This is what I have in mind for it to be transformed into ....

70 sublime

You should of bought my R/T survivor for $29k. Leon.

You sold that car 5 years ago, Leon.....and you're obviously STILL sore over the price you got for it.

You don't want to know what I've turned down for my survivor 68 R/T.

If you saw it in person, you wouldn't say that you'd drive it. Trust me when I say that the pictures that were shown and the ad description on the ad do not tell the full story. The car is far, far from being a mild fixer-upper, but that didn't matter to me because of what I have in mind for it.

The car looked better than this one...

What are you trying to say or imply? did it look better in Pics then it actually was in Person? Did seller over hype it's condition? Do tell the full story? :scratchchin:  :shruggy:

From his ad:

"All in all, this is an original car that has never been restored. You can drive it the way it is or you can restore it."

Every other description he said in his ad is complete BS. The brakes don't work, all the glass is not perfect, the engine barely runs, the PS hoses were cut, the exhaust junk, the ignition switch is screwed up, the rear side window mechanisms are frozen, the grile is junk, etc. His ad made leads you on to believe that it's a barn find thatjust needs a little TLC to be roadworthy, but such is not the case. This car spent a lot of time outside in the weather. The car does have more rust issues that he failed to mention.

That all said, I am not totally disappointed with the body itself because for the most part the body is pretty solid. The car is a perfect candidate for what I'm going to do with is, but to say that you could drive it as is is complete BS.
