Can't believe that's real, I just can't.

Its real alright. I follow that auction company and watched the action on line. It went off this morning. Not even an AC car  :shruggy: . What I cant believe is there was a very nice older restored 70 GTX that only brought 45K. Makes me wonder for sure.

I could imagine a 71 hemi cuda convert project going for that much, but a run of the mill 70Charger RT?

Kern Dog

A lot of cash for a car that needs to be restored.

Mike DC

The primered body is making the car look worse than it really is.  Look at the engine bay.

Too much money?  Yeah.  But it's a red '70 R/T in barn-find condition that has probably never been apart.  There aren't many of those left to choose from.

Its the way things are going...   I'm out.

My friend has a # matching '69 RT / 440 4 speed Dana B5 / white vinyl top car that needs most everything.  He picked it up outta Jersey a few weeks before and had it for sale at the local swap meet for $40K last month.   I'm not in the market anyway.

A 70 would have had the Pistol Grip shifter. What happened?

Also has an alternator with the 2 belt pully on it. But no factory AC.

True but 79500.00 With say 30K to restore it your in it for over 100K. Just seems high for the options. But people want what they want if they have the cash.

They bought a story. Sold to pay medical bills. Stories sell things at inflated prices.

And just think the guy that came in second on the bidding at the auction still has a bunch of money to spend on a Charger if he can find one
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

I guess what shocked me was about 5 years ago I bought a 68 charger for 7200.00. It had a non matching 440 in it that ran. The car was complete with all the rust I could afford  :hah: . I put about 5000.00 worth of sheet metal in it and with doing everything myself I am in it for about 28500.00 now that it is done. The thing is I felt like I paid too much for it then. I guess not  :shruggy: We tend to forget that with each car sold there are less out there to buy.

To own a Charger you have to feel like you paid too much for it or someone else would have bought it  :2thumbs:

I know the feeling on the 70 R/T I had bought and felt the very same way

Yes, my car is now worth 150 large!!!

I bought my 1st Charger in 94 for $400. It was a rough but running 1970 Charger 500 B5 with a 318 auto, ac in it. My how things have changed! These big prices, it's no wonder the import crowd dislikes the old guys in high dollar Detroit muscle...
