Hello Folks......
I'm a new member who has had lotsa cars over the years but my favorite was a 1967 HEMI Charger when I was in college.....worried constantly it would break and I'd be broke!! :'(
It was REAL SCARY on skinny Polyglas Tires when the 727 would downshift to 1st gear when stabbing it at 45-50 MPH......HOLY CRAP......HOLD ON!! :o
Anyway, I have been on the hunt for another like it........I've found several 1966 cars but very few 1967's.........so my question is what would be a fair price for a very nice 1966 4-speed survivor car assuming everything works as advertised?? :shruggy:
Thanks in advance for any and all replies!!

25K?  Thats what most people would be looking to get just for the engine.  AKCharger is closer.

You would paying a bunch of extra money for a Hemi/4spd VIN number and a survivor car.  If you can settle for a restored car with a swapped drivetrain, plenty of those cars are very well done nowadays.  Mechanically indistinguishable from a restored factory car.  It's not like 40 years ago when people swapped the motor & trans but they neglected to change the rest of the details.

Also, there is a joke in the hobby that "Hemi" stands for 'Have Enormous Money Invested."  You're paying a lot of extra money to have those spark plugs in the valvecovers.  These days you can throw some catalog parts at a 440 engine and make as much power as a factory stock Hemi.  Like, easily.  The Hemi is still the horsepower king, but its advantage doesn't really show (horsepower-per-dollar) until the engines are pretty well built.  700+ horses.

$25K for ANYTHING hemi is not going to happen.

Keep in mind production numbers for a 67 Hemi charger is A LOT less than 66. So finding one will be a challenge.

That said , In today's market pretty much anything Hemi car is $75k AND UP

Thanks guys.......

Unfortunately I have another big hurdle before I could consider the HEMI car.......my right hip is shot and needs replacement!! ??? :eek2:

I'm currently in the midst of approvals from various medical folks and if all goes well 2-8-22 is the day for surgery.......UGH!! :shruggy:

I may have to look into some of the built cars since the HEMIS are so expensive!! :flame:

Keep the ideas coming....my preferences are 1967 and 1968 (my Mom had a '68 318 car)!!

Thanks again!! :2thumbs:

If money is an issue and you're not worried about Pedigree the above is absolutely the way to go
