hey guys, have a small issue with my driveshaft(came out of a big block new yorker so obviously too long)my question is that i want to get it to the correct length i have read they are just over 52" but this still seems just a tad to short?? car has a 727 and 8 3/4 which has the small yolk i do have the moog 347 conversion joint.just wondered what sort of "pull out " do we like to see at the transmission splines??(flat seal) also to add this is measured from the centres of the joint bearing :2thumbs:
thanks in advance guys

That's what length I used when I had an 8.75" rear, and yeah it seems shorter than it "should be." And I use the booted seal

3 3/4" from back of housing to center of u-joint cup.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

One inch "pull out" but it's better to measure for your new driveshaft.

Vehicle's full weight must be resting on it's suspension while measuring.

A.  Measure from the center of the rear U-joint to the end of the transmission tail-housing (A dimension, Figure 1)

B.  Measure from the end of the transmission tail-housing to the end of the output shaft (B dimension, Figure 1)

C. With the cars fully assembled weight load sitting on a flat surface supported by the tires.
