Hi all

Im sure everyone has experienced absolute disappointment when they have purchased a so called OEM or quality restoration part for their mopar only when it arrives and it is nothing that they expected.

Well i have and it would be so helpful if we could share our experiences as consumers on the quality and service we experience hence this thread.

so im happy to go first;

Dash pads it has taken me 3 attempts to get a half decent dash pad for my 68 charger.  My first actually had the vinyl peel off before i could get it onto the car but i thought i would give classic industries the benefit of the doubt and try again, only for them to provide me another one that was of such poor quality (the vinyl edge was trimmed back so close to where the pad meets the dash frame) you could see the exposed edge when it was bolted onto the frame. That was strike 2 .

So attempt #3 was a dash pad from Legendary and even though they dont have a pad for a 68 i went with the 69 and I am extremely impressed. great fit, great quality I wish I had know I would have saved some money...

Did Legendary ever get some grain into their pad. I sent mine back. Theirs was the best at correct detail, yet had ZERO grain and was almost smooth.

I avoid the big restoration parts suppliers.  Companies like Year One, Classic Industries are not Mopar experts and quality is hit or miss.  I had my '68 dash pad done by Just Dashes.  It was a nice job.  I told them I would dye the pad to get the correct color as all their vinyl is black.  Mega Parts, B,E,and A parts, PG classics, Tony's parts, Dante's, and Legendary interiors are all great sources.

I bought a set of front side markers for my 70 Charger from PG Classics. The ones they sent me didn't fit. The posts that go into to the retainers were way off. They tried telling me my retainers were wrong. Mine were original. Sent them back.

If I can't get original next best is original parts sent to a reputable repair place. Now stuff like Carpets, Light bulbs stuff like that the big parts places are fine for, but important stuff I'll spend the $$ and sentd it to an expert
