Given the nature of how they operate, I suspect there are already kits which would use a micrcamera to "watch" the tree and have the computer deliver a perfect reaction time and launch every single time.  I just dont see where this would provide much excitement for me personally.  Nothing to do with politics or technology, I am just saying that for me personally, I can't see where electric motorsports will do much for me.

Are there currently rules for that on gas cars? can you have a camera/computer watch the tree and mat an E-throttle or something? it would be interesting what the rule changes would be, and if there is anyone doing it currently. my guess would be at least taping off the camera views or something as a start :shruggy:

Sounds like electric slot cars.   Just comes down to reaction time and aero.

I would enjoy watching old school 1/24 scale slot car drags or even the new school ultra fast ones over full size electric car drag racing.

:iagree: Years ago, several racers came up with turbine-powered race cars; they produced little/no noise. No noise, no excitement.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Meh.. Not a fan.

I appreciate the tech but for me the sounds and feel are half of it. I know it's not the IHRA but I tried watching Formula E racing as there are some old F1 drivers in there but it's not the same. You can't replace a screaming 1000hp V12 at redline with an electric motor no matter how hard you try.    Even the current hybrid turbo engines in F1 sound like crap in my opinion.

Having said that, I wouldn't turn down a ride in an electric drag car, must have crazy torque.
