Update on the Burned 69 Daytona from Texas

I remember seeing this in an old post, wondering what happened to it. One day A friend of mine was talking about a burned Daytona he had. He said it was originally white, I put two and two together and I had figured out he had the Texas burn pit Daytona. He bought it from the guy who paid 46 grand for it. My friend paid considerably less than the 46k. He is sitting on it now, unsure of what to do with it, here are some updates pics.

I was trying to find out the dealership. Varieo never seemed right. Well, I did some searching and found out something interesting. One letter difference from Varieo is Varied. Varieo Inc could be the Varied industries building, the automotive showcase building at the Texas state fair, it's a stretch but it's something.

wondered what had happened to that daytona ! did not really expect it to be still dead ! thought sure it would have been rebodied  or  rebuilt with any original good parts left spliced  woven fitted into what was once a 318 body

The current owner wants to restore it properly. He has other projects that are being done so its kind of at the end of the line. The car looks a lot worse than it really is. The roof, firewall, some parts of the front fenders and the top half's of the quarters are salvageable. He would have to document the entire process to prove it is the car and not a 318 car with the VIN off of a Daytona. Money definitely isn't a problem with him.

send it to freiburger at roadkill garage, and dare him to get it on the road. be sure to clearcoat it, for that authentic gas monkey patina finish.

is it bad that my first thought is to take (what's left of) that body and put it on a rock crawler or sand rail? just me?
