Quick question if I may: I was checking the PCV valve as part of my new season routine and the dang thing broke in 1/2 (clean break). Just to ensure that I collected all of the guts, the only internals are just a spring and the metal rattle, correct? I found a very similar valve to dissect for comparison & everything was a match, fortunately. But, just for the sake of it, is that all that's within these hard plastic valves (spring and rattle)?

I had seen that BWD produces a partially metal valve as an alternative. Thanks for looking...

Yup the rubber grommet gets hard and plastic PVC brittle. Replace both.
