383 found for 1969 Charger XP29H9B171893

I contacted Shawn at the 1969 Charger Registry about this engine about a month ago and the car had been registered before, back around 2005. Shawn has sent two emails to the address he had for the owner, but no response yet so that email may no longer be in use?

This Charger was originally B7 blue with an automatic transmission and was last known in Ohio.

I have plans for the engine if the cars owner is not interested in it.....

It had been in a 1970 Cuda a pal owns since at least 1990 & he bought it that way, we started it up for the first time in decades last July.

I would be very curious to know if this Charger has the 383 in it from my pal's Cuda too.......

So does this car ring any bells with anybody? Anyone know the owner?

For those that have joined Registries in the past, this is also a good reminder to keep your contact information up to date with them if you move, change email providers, etc. We can not help you if we can not get a hold of you when needed.

Update, I picked up another 383 from a long dead car and will use it for my plans, so I can mothball the one mentioned above for a while.

No word from the owner of the matching car -yet.

Hi Guys, I am the current owner of the car. I would be highly interested in getting the original motor back. It was not in the car when I bought it 26 years ago.

Chris saw that I had registered this car on the Charger registry sight. I am curious how he knew it was me on Facebook though? He messaged me about this once in a lifetime chance!! We also became friends on Facebook.

I haven't been on this sight in a long time, but this is why I love this hobby!!

Thankx,

-Don

How did you find the owner on facebook????  :o

Typed his name in the search box....matched it up with the city & state that he registered the car with back in 2005....stalked his pics to see if there were any Chargers in it and viola!   Sent him a PM and the rest is history,.

Stalker! LOL

Registry keepers do have to become internet detectives trying to track people down sometimes.

Some of my Registry addresses are over 25 years old now. People move, change emails providers, etc.

So for anyone that has registered in the past, if your information changes, PLEASE let the Registry keeper know, it makes it so much easier to find you when needed.

I actually have two 69 Chargers. The Charger that this motor came out of currently does not have anything in it right now. I need to do some body work to it first. Hopefully this summer!!

The second one, which is the one pictured in my profile, has a 540 Hemi that my son and I built. It is an absolute beast!!

I just bought a 2020 Scat Pack Challenger in December. We will be racing these cars this summer. I think the Challenger will beat the Charger on street tires because it has traction control etc. However, when I put the slicks on the Charger I know I will beat the Challenger. Slicks are the traction control of the 60's!!  ;)
