Some small details left out here. With this design there's no time adjusting stem/knob like the original. And by going by the picture in the eBay ad, you would have to remove the clock to adjust/change the time setting. However you could get the remote battery harness (they sell separate) or make your own. That way you could just place the battery in when the time reading on the clock reaches the actual time. Then you could fab in your stem (if you have one) somehow to make it look original.

Also this is the NON Tic toc Tach clock which is the least popular of the two. I wonder if they have the tach version clock. :shruggy:

An original clock is the best way to go. Upgrading them with quartz is recommended and most clocks still have great looking faces with good clear/contrast of black white. They typically clean up very well as do the needles. If stem is broken, they are available.

Great points by everyone! That's why I always value this board. My clock still "works" so to speak as in it powers up and the hands move it just don't keep good time. Was thinking of doing quartz conversion. My question on that is I've heard a quartz conversion makes the second hand "sweep" rather than "tick". My clock's second hand sweeps already so possible the quartz conversion was done already? Curious if that fact about the second hand is correct? Anyone have an original working clock to confirm?

they are selfadjusting while you adjust it propperly. If they get retarded, advance it constantly OR make a full turn to forward. That will tension the winding springs. If get advanced then the oposite.
