Wife and I planning to Celebrate our car's B-day, Iknow it's sometime in April BUT cars still in shop for AC Mod. does the window sticker show anything?? P.S. Very fortunate to get a TON of original documentation with car when I got it!

I thought the sticker inside the door was the place where the date was stamped.  I know there is a scheduled production date somewhere on the fender tag, but I think that is different.

Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I'm pretty sure door sticker shows month/year if I'm not mistaken. I've always used fender tag...but again car isn't here

Sorry,

I didn't realize you had an attached pdf.

I apologize that I do not know the answer from the pdf  (It is fun to look at though)

I have been reverse engineering/creating "actual production date" calendars for a number of the popular '68-'71 assembly plants - but have not started one for Lynch Rd. 1972

the window sticker shows the "SCHEDULED PRODUCTION DATE" of Tuesday April 18, 1972 & a print date of Monday April 3, 1972
- most cars are completed within a week of their original window sticker's print date - IMO your car was at least a week EARLY

the door stickers with the MONTH / DAY / HOUR (MMDDHH) completion dates started later during the '72 model year (earlier '72 model year just show MONTH & YEAR)

I wouldn't be so sure. My Bee was scheduled for Feb 25th, my engine wasn't built until the 28th and my exhaust manifolds where cast on the 27th ! So suspect the car wouldn't have popped off the end of the line for a few days after that.

Oh!? I thought the fender tag date was the definitive date??

Ghoste

I have always thought it was scheduled.

Ghoste is correct. It is a scheduled date (the date they estimated it would be built). There are many examples of cars built both before and after the fender tag date.

A classic example is the '69 A12 / 440-6 cars. My understanding is that they were built over a 12 week period, but only two SPD's were used. Every car had one of the two build dates on the tag.

Perhaps 6bblgt will enlighten us on the A12 cars SPD's. He is a wealth of information. I am constantly impressed with the research he has done, and the info he can supply.
