PCV - Installation?

I purchased a PCV and grommet from A & M High Tech Auto and I have a question regarding the installation.

How does mount in the valve cover?

I see thread and a nut but it seems it's supposed to just sit in there.   :shruggy:

Does the valve cover have to come off to install it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

the pcv valve just pushes in to the valve cover  rubber grommet , and the thin steel nut just slides down the oppsite way up in your picture on to the pcv valve nut

Unless you have a Hemi ;)

On a Hemicar I believe the PCV goes into a chrome breather like housing no?

possibly in the 60s

I think you're right.

Here is my friends 66 Hemi Satellite engine.   The PCV is held in a chrome housing on the rear of the pass valvecover

Nut is not used, except 1969 and older Stret Hemi's, 273's , big blocks 1965 and older, These all use a chrome cap like the street hemi pictured above.

Grommet just pushes in the valve cover, and it's all painted engine color

They  were painted. I've got the original 1969 color filmstrip library  and a couple pics of unrestored  of cars.

ok i got a question, my pcv on my 69 does not look like that and it's tapped in to the front of my eddy performer.  maybe it belongs on the plug on the back of the manifold.
i have a chrome summit air cleaner, numbers motor but not original air cleaner.
