Would it be poor manners for someone to ask what wing car its going to be portrayed as?

Every surviving Mopar NASCAR that once raced as a 1969 model . . . seems like they all get restored as wing cars.

Not only that,  but there is a newer chassis out there ('74-ish) that has been backdated to be a Daytona.
They all Won a big race too
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

UPDATE-

The car in question was the K&K 67 Charger, #37.  Last driven by Bobby at the 1968 Riverside 500 race.

It was updated to later 1969 Charger body by the guy in Kansas City around 1990 and lettered up to resemble a #71 K&K Dodge.

YES, real K&K 1967 Charger.
NO, not driven by Bobby in the 1970 Championship year.

It was stated that Bobby drove 2 1970 tunnelback Chargers and a 69 Charger 500 in 1970, winning the Championship.   THAT IS TRUE.

A 1969 tunnelback Charger was not driven by Isaac, in 69 or 70...

Here's the real 1970 K&K short track car.
Compare the main hoop location by the door-1/4 panel intersection.  Check out the gap.
Compare where the "A" bars sit next to the windshield.  No gap for the real car.
Gap for the car updated from a 1967 chassis.

Pics of the car, before being skinned to a 69 Charger body in 1990.

If you found this, no name of the driver on it, would you guess K&K guys??   No, I wouldn't have either!!

Look at the bars coming down at the A-pillar.   See how narrow they are?     On a '68-'70 Nichels build, they would be welded right up against the A-pillar like the '70 Charger shown two posts up for strength.

And they ran THREE hood pins, not 4 in 69-70....   :yesnod:

The wheel openings are not flared like they were on Isaac's Chargers.

That roll cage  down tube looks about as tight to the A pillar as possible!

I found my pics from 1991 when the 67 #37 K&K fastback Charger got a 69 body and the #71 put on it.

I'll post them soon...

What was this car?

The pic is usually labeled as the '68 Atlanta 500.  But I remember seeing video clip of that race and it looked like a different #71 car.

This one seems sort of out-of-time for the #71s of the period.  I'm guessing it's a '68 grille.  But the vent windows are missing.  The front end looks kind of snubbed for aero gains (look at the profile of the hood's center ridge and the fender tops).  That front end would not have passed the first long template.  The front wheelwheel is very opened-up.  The bottom of the fender is rolled back/up ahead of the front wheel.

The whole roof almost looks chopped (or the windshield just laid back) too.  But that could be an artifact of the photography.

Here they are. Taken in 1991.
Right after the 67 Charger body was removed and a 1969 body installed.
Note the door to 1/4 by the glass!   Not even close to fitting!
Inside trunk has all the rear light stuff, which a real 69 race car didn't.
Fenders look stock, because they are!  Not race prepped at all!!
Check out the torsion bar adjuster... yeah, under the car because that's how a 1967 car was!!

More stuff - like the "suitcase" under the Dutchman!!   Guy doing the conversion didn't know it was supposed to be removed on race cars...

Over the years, "somebody" updated the car to look more "real" as a 1969.  Bobby Isaac never sat in this car as a 1969.
BUT he did drive it in 1967 and early 1968 when it was a 1967 #37 fastback Charger. YES, it is a REAL K&K Dodge.
Just not a 1969 tunnel back Charger.   Enjoy the photos.   Maybe someone has some of the car as it sits in the Museum
to compare.

I suggest downloading the pics and flipping them to see the details better.  I had them all straight and they flipped when posting.   :shruggy:
