I have a 727 with the slap stick shifter. Some of you may be familiar with that set up. A couple times I've gotten on it enough to really open up the 4 barrel and it jumped from Drive into Neutral. Seems like it happen once when it was latched (shifter stayed in "D"), and once when it wasn't (shifter jumped up into "N").

Is this a linkage issue?

What john said- if the shifter physically moved, mount is probably broken.
