Recoloring lower dash vinyl.

On my 69 charger I need to recolor the lower dash panels and glove box lid. Couple questions. I assume SEM products are the best. Year one sells their own interior paint again I assume SEM made it.What color black? what should be done for prep. Thanks.

I used herbs

I think I just cleaned them very well with soap/water and dyed them.

I did my seats and I think a few dash pads too.

I've used both Herbs & SEM products. If surface is prepared properly both products are excellent. Regular soap & water then I use the SEM vinyl prep they sell.

are your panels just discolorated  by the age, sun, elements ? or are you replacing in some other color and need to get them black to match your car interior ?

If JUST discolorated, you can be simplier... shoes wax and done... My dash pad ( which I got used ) come some discolorated after a good soap and water cleaning... simply aplied black shoes wax, cloth buff just like when you buff your shoes and done... is still like new still now, after 8 or 10 years. And never applied more wax anymore.
