I have a 72 Charger and want to add a front sway bar. Can I do it by just drilling holes ? Or must I have a k member that originally came with a sway bar? I do have an extra 1968 k member but dont really want to swap unless I have to.

I think the lower control arms have a tab that sticks out for the bolts that come up from the end of the sway bar
Might be hard to do if the arms do not have this tab

The K is no problem - as mentioned the brackets that need to be on the lower control arms are the key. They make kits to address this.

You do not need to swap the K  :icon_smile_big:

You just need the right/correct sway bar for 71-72. Not all years will interchange. As stated earlier, your K-Frame is not the issue. No such thing as a non sway k frame.

( editing... 73 and lates gets "non sway bar" K members, but is just an add on to be welded for the link rods )

Addco used to sell a swaybar kit for this application, but it used two pieces of metal to sandwich the lower edge of the control arm between two pieces of metal bolted together. If you go that route,I recommend welding those bolted pieces to the control arms. It is the easist way to convert a non sway bar equipped car to a sway bar car. with this kit,you do not have to change out any components.

Summit racing sells the tabs that you can weld to your factory lower control arms.

The other benefit to using the addco kit,is that you can get a larger than stock diameter swaybar too.
