Father of the second generation Charger passes.

I just read that Richard Sias the lead designer of the second generation Charger has passed away at the age of 80. RIP Richard. His double diamond design was applied to the Coke bottle shaped second generation Charger making the car a sales success, however he was given little to no credit for the design. There is an interesting article about him in Hemmings magazine.  He also, like myself envisioned a convertible form of the Charger,but took his design a step further by also trying to incorporate the sail panel fins into the folding top. Thanks Richard for the design of the most iconic muscle car Chrysler ever built.

After I read the article, I scrolled down to the bottom of the page and read the comments section, there are some very interesting comments from people who actually knew and worked with Richard.

When you read the article, you will realize how close the design of the 68 Charger almost came to being scrapped by Brownlie, while in the early stages of development. You will also see how quickly he took credit for it once it became a sales success!

After reading more of the comments from people who were actually there in the design studio when the 68 Charger was nearing completed in clay mock up,one person said Bill Brownlie walked into the studio,and ripped the gas cap off from the center of the tail panel,then he placed it on top of the left quarterpanel,and said,this belongs here. Richard also designed the Charger script too.
