1970 Wood grain Steering Wheel

I bought a new 70 wood grain steering wheel. I can not get the horn adaptor to mount to the old non wood grain horn switch. Any ideas? I can not get it together. I was told that both type wheels use the same horn switch.

I have 2 horn switches pictured 1 upright 1 upside down. The part with the stud that sticks up removes. I did not notice it right away.
