Could be my aging eyes but I swear I see an orange filter on the majority of Top Fuel cars.

YES!   And they are rebuilding the engines daily!!!!!!!!     :icon_smile_big:

Personally, I use Pure One but here's a guy that's more than satisfied with the performance of Fram:

There's also alot of complaints about Fram in that thread.

To improve oil flow I use a gutted oil filter...same benefits as a gutted catalytic converter!   I picked up two horsepower alone from that mod.

I have been using Fram exclusively for the past couple of years. Another member, moparguy 01, convinced me that they were the best.

Chris........question for you if you don't mind.   How did you paint the WIX filter?  What did you use for paint and how did you make the MOPAR letters.  Looks really great + you have an extremely high quality oil filter that you don't have to worry about.  Thanks.

You could try Pure Power. They are lifetime filters, made of metal. You just take the element out and clean it. Just fork over $200.

when i raced i used fram or ac delco filters cuz they were cheap and i changed them a lot! i ran valvoline sae 50 and never had a filter  or oil problem.
At work on our fleet trucks we use wix exclusively (the same as napa they shuld be lumped together in the poll) BUT in high rpm use i have seen wix filters slow oil down so much that the engine starves for oil. thats a really bad thing at 6500rpm. so even tho they are a great filter be sure your not puting such a good filter on that it wont handle the flow you nead.

I've used Fram for years but I think I'm changing to the Wix/Napa filters. I had no Idea the Fram filters were so bad. I also recently changed to Mobil 1 oil from Penzoil synthetic. I used Penzoil for 20+ years. I still think the Penzoil is good stuff but I hear the Mobil 1 is better.

K&N filters and Castrol GTX 20W/50 oil in both my Chargers.

Good oil pressure and the added oil cap. the K&N brings doesn't hurt.

how you can REALLY notice differences between some or another filters to choose the "best" one ?

If the cheap one blows apart when subjected to the higher pressures and volumes that many of our engines make, you'll notice quickly.  If it doesn't filter properly, it may take a little longer. ;)

Hello All,

I am new to this forum.  I used to be a FRAM man too until I was employed at a quick lube shop a few ago.  I noticed how cheap the casings were.  I switched to their brand while I worked there. :yesnod:

I usually use NAPA Gold for the sole reason the guys see me in NAPA so much they give me a discount, maybe they feel sorry for me.  But it sounds to me, at least so far, that you guys/gals all like NAPA Gold filters.

I use Castrol GTX for most of my rides, new and old(different weights of course).  Any opinions on my oil choice?  Can't learn anything if you don't ask.

Welcome to the site. These guys/gals are awesome on here and can help you with anything you could possibly want to know.  Albeit sarcastically alot of times but they help none-the-less.  It's a lot of fun and it's the next best thing to having a friend if you don't have time/want to socialize.
Poke around to all the different discussion boards, but make sure you have a lot of time because some of these topics will suck you in and next thing you know is it's 1 in the am.  Like the chicks on chargers thread! :drool5:

Peace and chicken grease!
