Who repop's the 68 style auto console shift knob and button??

Do they exist? and who sells 'em?

Saw the 69-70 on Year One's site, but only the "button" for a 68, and it's black??  Thought they were all "chrome-like" in 68?

The "nub" still moves freely, and the threads are good, just need the rest to complete it.

They don't repo the chrome ones yet, swap meets and ebay are your best shot at this point.
All 68's and some early 69's had the chrome knob, have not seen to many 69's with them, but
the owners said it was original to the car on two 69's I saw them in.

I have heard the chrome ones overlap into '69 models, but I do not understand how. My knob on the '68 is very different physically from the '69. The spline patterened skirt is one piece to the button on my '68 and the '69 has a much smaller knob with no skirt. Does that skirt remove from the '68 button in some way? Or is the silver ring around this button (not part of the knob, but attached to the woodgrain ball somehow) added to fill where the skirt would go?

Ive got mine off of ebay, still need to rechrome plastic button. Problem is that plastic and chrome dont like each other very much so it'll eventually peel off

I look for the early chrome push buttons, I have found that the early ones are often chrome metal not chromed
plastic like most we see. The chromed metal units last very long looking great.

  thats what he said.  never seen any other cars like that before though, all of the 69s out there have the wood ones

My 69 was built 8-9-68, and it had the chrome knob, the button is shot, though. since my cars gonna be a driver, I got a wood knob for a replacement.  Another note my door handles had the 68 black buttons too, its not unusual for an early built car to have left-over parts.

Many '69 model year cars have black buttons. My November 1968 production Charger has them and I have seen them on many other 1969 Chargers as well.

If you're scouring the yards, you'll find the 67's have the same knob and pushbutton as 68.

Mine has no detent button at all!!! Just a horrible white plastic ball that looks like its off a pool table!
Was wondering myself why  I couldn't see it in the Year One Catalog.....I haven't taken mine apart, but is the spring detent rod inside the stick? Here's hoping all the bits are there to make a new on e function...

I need one too, i was just watching one on ebay and it sold for $146!!!  but it included the top plate and shifter mechanism.
