SAAB 340's

About a year after this post I saw some REAL BAD decisions my old company was making and the end was inevitable so jumped ship....well plus old company went bankrupt.
So a significant pay raise, overnights at places with beaches and swim up bars and decent schedule...every once in a while ya' catch a break

Ah, you were flying for PenAir, did you fly Saab 2000s too?  Glad things are working out

Hi 99, nope I was a 340 guy, the 2000's were strictly an Alaska plane for runs from Anchorage to Dutch Harbour. In fact that was one of the bad decisions I witnessed. The 2000 was a great plane when it came out over 20 years ago, but they only made 53 total in the world, and many less flying today. Being an old Acft Maint. Guy I know that an old airplane with a limited production run is just not supportable. My pals up there said it was a great plane to fly but it, along with some other bad choices doomed the company.

But worked out great for me :-)

Ever seen that real story of "Alaska Air" or Maybe in was Canada Air.  Anyway, They still fly WWII cargo planes everyday.  Cool show if you like Old Airplanes.

I've seen bits and pieces, I think that's from Canada. But you'll routinely see C-46s, DC-3s and DC-6s still operating
