There's so many topics on it the new Dodge Challenger but I was just wondering is there an actual release date yet? Or approximate date? Have they released information on engines, colors etc?

Last I heard, it was just a concept car.  They've never said they are actually going to make it, let alone announce any options.   :shruggy:

People liked it to much.........they won't build that. :yesnod:

my inside source at dcx tells me that as soon as the union negotiations are over with, and some type of tax break talks are over that the challenger is a go-should be late next year as a 09 model, possibly an 08,ill leak the info as i get it!!!

What I heard was that they have approached the Canadian Auto Workers to see what kind of concessions they can get and based on that they will determine whether to build it in Brampton or St. Louis.

I heard  on one of the other Mopar sites, that a guy who works for a parts manufacturing company, said that his company has been awarded the bid,to produce the tail panels for the new Challenger. He said the bid is for 45,000 units to be made in 2007,for introduction in 2008.

The rumor I heard last was that some dealerships are taking orders for them already. It sounds like BS to me but that's what I heard.

I'm friends with the Safety Director of one of the major engineering companies that installs dies and presses in the automotive factories. Had a chance to ask him if he'd heard anything. His direct words were "Yes and Yes". One of the concept cars is sitting in the Production studio right now at DC in Detroit and they're working out final specs on it. Should be out in July of '07 as an '08 model year.

You're welcome to believe me or not, but when the Challenger comes out next year, don't say I didn't tell ya so! :icon_smile_big:

;D If you'd like a signature like this, shoot me a PM! ;D

THere was an article in Classic American over here in the UK where they took a classic Challenger into the DCx styling shop and discussed the new chally with the designers, the official company line of course is that IT IS A CONCEPT only...but there also appeared to be a lot of hints that there could be a possible 2009 release. One of those..."there are no plans at the moment, but if there were, it would be a 2009 model year (nudge-nudge-wink-wink..)"
A case of wait and see...

I read on another site as well that it's going to be limited production numbers so it will be pricey, and a V8 is standard in them all, I think I would have to get the Hemi if I got one

There is a web site dedicated to the new Challenger www.challengertalk.com  They have much info but it sounds like our members pretty much have the 411

1970 Challenger convertible 340/727
1970 Plymouth Duster FM3
1974 Dodge Dart /6/904
1983 Plymouth Scamp GT 2.2 Auto

The company I work for is one of the largest OEM suppliers of interior systems in the world... rumor around here is that we have bid on (and been awarded) the Challenger seating program. No word yet on what model year, but based on experience, I wouldn't look for it until '09.  Since I'm working on '09 Ram seats now, I will be trying to get on the Challenger program ASAP!
