Battery for 69 Charger RT

Yes, group 27 with red caps.  Check with Jim Irwin at Jim's Battery Mfg. located in Youngstown, OH.  at 1-800-426-7580.  This was the Antique Auto Battery Company which I guess is under new ownership.  A customer got his last Thursday.

Just curious...is he doing the style with a newer battery inside a retro case?

It all depends.  If your planning on showing the car, or are selling the car as an all original car, then by all means buy a period correct battery. 

However, batteries are so easy to change or swap out.  For me I made the election to go with the best battery with the longest replacement warranty, even though its not period correct. 

For me, its seems, today's batteries are CRAP and will fail rather quickly. I typically drive my car 2X a week in the summer months, but for the winter months it usually stays warm in the garage.  When the car sits during the winter months, I disconnect the terminals and use a Battery Minder to keep the charge up.  In 2016 I purchased a new Optima and this spring when I pulled the car out of the garage and was running though my annual maintenance list, the battery I purchased in 2016, failed under a load test. 

For me, it works best to buy the longest replacement warranty as that is the only way I have found to keep a battery in an old car going for 5 years.

My friend said the battery was shipped to him dry using the AGM technology which is good.  I know Turbo Start is also working on getting the approval to sell the batteries.  But since this guy has brought them back into production, then the licensing department of Fiat America may not be quite so quick in giving up another license agreement on a battery.
