Dynamat on interior roof

Has anyone used Dynamat or similar sound deadened on the interior roof sheet metal.
Did it stay in place? Any issues with it coming loose?

I've never done that myself, but I'd figure after sitting in the sun the heat would cause it to come loose.  Since the headliners are so much fun to put in,  :eek2: I wouldn't do it.

Most noise comes from the floor & firewall.

I've done it on a few. One has been together probably 4 or 5 years with no issues to date that I am aware of

PS, Ive used Rattle trap material from  Fatmat .com exclusively

The roof does resonate noise. Some type of sound deadener would help. The adhesive on these Dynamat/FatMat products is very strong but sitting in 120 degree Phoenix sun could be a problem. What about a spray-in product like Lizard Skin?

Wasn't hard to do.    So far so good.   :2thumbs:

I just bought the cheapest foil backed 100 sq ft package I could find on ebay.    Still have a lot left after doing most of Sinn's interior.

That's what I did as well, but I keep wishing I'd given it a shot with some flat black. I can see the silver sparkling through the headliner holes.  :rofl:

I don't like to use it above the headliner for fear that it may sag. Stuff is pretty heavy. I like to use carpet padding. It is light and the headliner bows nestle into it very nicely.

My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Same. I use carpet padding as well. Easy to shape and very light.

I used the foil insulation as I didn't want the mice having something to make a home out of again !  :scratchchin:

I did noico  80mil and achieved about 40% coverage. On top of that and covering any previously uncovered areas I applied a thicker but lower density material (equivalent to Dynaliner).

I love how little noise the body panels make. It allows me to just listen to the exhaust tones!  :icon_smile_big:

We used Dynamat on mine in 2011, it's endured 25,000 miles, 2 power tours, and the South Florida sun for 7 years now and no sign of trouble.

Torque converters are for construction equipment.

I bought some fiber furniture padding from a sewing store.  Very light weight, used light duty spray adhesive.  Cut to fit.  cost me about $10 for everything.  Still need to spray it black so it won't show thru headliner.
