$38,000 huh.  Too rich for my blood...

Challenger340

As far as starting points in a Charger R/T, that example looks to be about as good as it gets these days ?
that said,
even if purchased well below the $38K Buy it Now, say at around $30K ? what's a guy in for in total $ by the time it's back in a decent condition ?

just saying here, relevance to the high pricing we're seeing on already done examples we all bitch about, yet as Mike DC so aptly pointed out in another thread.....
"we think nothing of today's $55K 1/2 ton trucks we pass on the road everyday" ?
Only wimps wear Bowties !

myk

Now more than ever buyers need to buy the best car they can the first time around.  You'd have to drop another $15K (?) just to make that car solid again...

I see many 55K trucks, cars, etc all day long. I assume that not everyone is paying cash for these vehicles out of their savings. A good majority of folks live above their means and finance up to their eyeballs, so I guess I am trying to say I am not seeing the connection between 55K trucks and nicely done Chargers. I would hope folks are not financing these?

I could be missing the point entirely LOL

Back in the day cash was king.  Now, like you said, people are financing all over the place.  The credit system is a scam; I wish people would learn and understand that,  but if you gotta have something you gotta have it,  I suppose...

I see 15 grand as a start & far, far more than that. As we all know, once you start getting into a 50 year old car, everything snowballs.

hemi-hampton

Buying it now at $38k looks like a steal compared to that rust bucket yellow one that supposably sold recently for around $30k :shruggy:

All I know is that if I lose my Charger I'm out of the game for good...

You are insured, right?
I am. I don't want to lose my car but if I do, I can buy another and start over. Sometimes that allows a man to do it different than before or avoid mistakes he made the first time around.

If I suffer a total loss I won't have enough to buy another car just with the insurance pay off.  I'll have to supplement the settlement...

Sounds like you need to up your agreed value on your car.  Who's fault would that be? You.  But look at the bright side, maybe you'll get your girlfriend back.

Car is insured for above $50K wiseguy and it isn't worth more than that so it's not like I can help it jerkoff.  And I'll take the car over any skirt, any day of the week...

Wow, Don't get all snowflakey :RantExplode:.  You're the one complaining that if you had a total loss, you wouldn't be able to get another Charger, Signs of NOT having enough insurance.  Also your signature says "My girlfriend told me that if I spend one more minute with my Charger she'd leave me.  Gosh I'll miss her!  UPDATE: SHE LEFT ME!!!"    If anyone needs to guess who's jerking it, I think they would guess you  :hah:
