Steering problem

Hello there,

I don't know what to do anymore.
A while ago i removed my dashboard and lowered the steering column for that. A few days later there's a big pool of oil under the car. I thought i killed a oil seal of the steering gear while the column was "hanging".. I took the gear out of the car and thought i'd replace the oil seals. I thought that would be a easy job just replacing 2 seals on the outcoming shafts (each one). But i found out ther are a lot more seals in the steering gear.. And i heard that it's almost impossible to "kill" a seals or more with the column lowered.. So i'm even doubting if the leak came from there.

I don't know what to do now. Any ideas info or experiences are appreciated.

Greets,
Chris.

The same thing happened to mine. The steering shaft must push on the seal causing it to leak. AS soon as i bolted the steering column back up the leak stopped.

Thanks for that answer, i was kinda thinking that's what happened. The lowered column "opened" the seal. I'll just put it back in! and see what happens.
