Will a stock Carter AVS fuel line fit a new Eddy Thunder AVS Carb?

Hey all, I'm considering purchasing a new AVS Thunder carb if my stock AVS can not be resessitated this week. I have a stock fuel line to the Carter now that I paid good money for to keep the stock look. I see that Eddy says in the install instructions that you MUST install a new fuel line to replace your stock steel line but this is a universal fit carb too so I'm not sure if that applies to EVERY car? They talk about Chebby and Chrysler Thermoquad carbs but dont mention old AVS carbs so I dont know where that leaves me.

The fuel intake looks to be in the same spot as a stock Carter AVS. If I need a fitting that would make sense but can anyone confirm if they still used their factory steel lines when doing this swap? I HATE the look of rubber fuel line on a fairly stock looking motor. I guess I want the best of both worlds (story of my life).

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I just did this to a eddy performer. Just take the inlet fitting from your AVS and swap it to the eddy. :icon_smile_wink:

Dan, you're correct and that is what I ended up doing. I used a Eddy reducer and it worked. I'm not sure why they just dont tell you to use a reducer vs. telling you to convert to a rubber fuel line?

Thanks Guys.

So the Performer can use the stock inlet only and the Thunder needs a reducer as well.

I got the AFB which I guess is the Performer (it's not an AVS). I pulled the stock fitting put put in an AVS fitting and a reducer. My car is a 383 so the fuel line is a 5/16 vs the 3/8 of the larger carbs.
