'69 Charger took some pics after a nice drive

Hey Guys,

Thought I'd post some pics of my car. I took it out for a nice drive with my son who is home from college. I'm teaching him how to drive a 4-spd. I didn't teach him in high school, just to be sure he wouldn't be tempted to sneak it out. LOL. Anyway, we had a nice time and snapped a few pics of it afterwards. It looks much better in these pics than in person. That paint is from the '70's and not that nice up close.

I also like it, whats the widest rubber you can safely put under the rear of these Chargers?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

They don't look tubular to me.

DixieRestoParts

Nope, they are not tubular, or tubbed. Stock wheel wells with 295/50/15's.

In the past, I've typically run 255 or 275 60 series tires and been happy with them. But, when I decided to go back to slots like I had in High School, I decided to buy the biggest tire I could fit without modifying anything. I could have altered backspacing, but decided not to. The bias ply version of 295's  are much wider and probably would not fit without changing backspacing. In High School, I ran bias L60-14's, and thought they were big! LOL.

Here's a pic after I finally roasted the L60's slick and put on some G60-14's. This was at the MMCI meet at Charlotte May 1983.

I used to run Wolfrace slots on my 74 Ford Capri (no laughing....and no it's not the same Capri other parts of the world got).....they looked good back then imo. Don't do it for me now though..look a bit visually heavy to my eyes. Cragars however (very similar design over here was called Rostyles...which i think where in turn were a US design) seem to be timelessly cool.
