Guys,

Can someone point me in the right direction to purchase an oil pick up tube for my 69 440 with the stock 402 pan?

Thanks

Lawrence

Went through this last year with my 71 Bee 402 Oil Pan

And I still had to bend the new one , even with the windage tray and two gaskets it was slightly to long

I researched and researched and this number is the only one that I could find for the 402 Oil Pan

3/8" Pickup

My only comment about it being too long is..... In the MP catalog it's listed as fitting a 6qt system.

I always considered the 402 pan a 5qt system.

Wrong application?

Milodon sells a 4qt + filter pan(5-1/4" deep) that looks very similar to the 402 pan, and their p/u for that pan is a 18660.

I don't know if it would fit the 402 pan any better than the MP part or not.

EDIT: I just measured my 402 pan, and it's only 4-3/4" deep.

I found this one from Mancini. Different pump than in your link?

Oil Pickup and Screen    MOPP4529565      1  30.95
Assemblies: Mopar
Performance Oil Pickup,
3/8" Pipe

The one I ordered is for the RB engine. I hope it fits.

If it actually looks like the one in the pic of that link........it won't fit.

The 402 pan takes a pick-up with a dog leg in it......but it's not the same as the one that fits the 971 pan.
The straight tube hits the baffle.

The one that Melling sells(63-S2??)with the dog leg in it fits the 971 pan.......which will be slightly too long for the 402 pan.

You guys were right. That Mancini tube did not work. My engine builder cut out 5/8" of an inch out of the tube spliced it together and all is good.
