I have a 1973 charger with a 318 2 Barrel if I wanted to switch the motor to a 3:40 or 360 are there certain ones I have to look for the exhaust and everything the same

Everything will match perfectly what doesn't mean some upgrades will be nice. Just take care of the torque converter balance if keeping the 904. Although 340s and 360s got 727 and 8 3/4 axle as minimum. Dual exhaust too. One engine mount changes.

340 valve covers sit higher, so you will need to consider that when putting on spark plug wires and valve covers. Also, 318 exhaust manifolds are more restrictive than 340 or 360, so you might also want to consider getting headers.

340 engines are more sought after, so you will pay a premium getting one, so I would look for a newer 360 or a crate motor.

Also, 73 and 74 engines were externally balanced, so be aware you might have to change the flex plate if the engine you get is internally balanced.
